Bishop Joseph J. Norfleet
In the year 2000, by the leading of the Lord Bishop Norfleet founded the United Churches in Christ, Inc.; a fellowship of churches and ministries within the United States and abroad. UCIC is designed to provide and promote fellowship, accountability and a strong solid network.
Having a heart for foreign missions, he oversees 400 pastors and churches throughout the country of India. He along with his wife founded the Lady Maddaline's Children Home in Guntur, India. This home cares for 60 orphans and has been in operation since 2005.
Bishop Joseph J. Norfleet served several years as the Chairman of the Leadership Council for the 1st Jurisdiction of the State of Connecticut for The Church of God in Christ, Inc. In July of 1989, he and his wife Maddaline founded the Faith Center Church in Meriden, Connecticut where he serves as the Senior Pastor.
Bishop Norfleet has been married to Maddaline A. Jenkins-Norfleet for over 36 years and is the father of four sons and one daughter.
In May of 2011, Bishop Joseph Norfleet returned to his roots: the Church of God in Christ, Inc. He is working and serving in the Connecticut 2nd Jurisdiction C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of Bishop Hester D. Bordeaux.
Bishop Norfleet attended the Hartford Seminary and completed a course of study in ministry. He holds a degree in Criminal Justice & Security. He is retired from the Connecticut Department of Correction with 20 years of service, during which time he has held several distinguished positions including Director of Security and Warden. He is the recipient of two Humanitarian Awards: The first was presented by President Jimmy Carter in 1978, the second in January 2003 by the Detective James Matthews, Sr. Scholarship Foundation. Bishop Norfleet is also an accomplished Airplane Pilot. Most of all he is an anointed vessel of God.
